Websites for dentists.
9 in 10 dental sites miss Google's threshold.

I measured 303 dental practice websites: a median load time of 6.4 seconds, with 90% over Google's threshold. In a trade where patients often choose a dentist at the moment of pain, a slow site hands the patient to whoever loaded faster.

Google PageSpeed, mobile.Takes about 30 seconds.No sign-up, no e-mail.

01What I found

Where sites in this trade lose clients. Beyond raw speed.

Speed opens the door, content closes the deal. These three patterns repeat across the measured sites in this trade - each one is fixable.

A patient in pain does not wait for a photo gallery

Dental sites haul heavy photos of chairs and smiles. A patient with a toothache needs three things within 3 seconds: phone, address, 'we can see you today'.

A missing price list scares more than high prices

Patients fear dental costs. Price ranges next to treatments keep people on the page who would otherwise never dare to call.

Reviews live on Google, the site never shows them

Practices with dozens of 5.0 reviews do not display them on their own site - the cheapest proof of trust there is.

Proof, not promises

I know medical practices from the inside - among others from the A2 Center clinic project. I know what on a practice site earns bookings and what is only decoration.
